This editorial reflects on the impact of the pandemic, the deterioration of the hospital environment, the decrease in scientific exchange and the lack of commitment in current medical practice. It highlights the urgent need to return to solid foundations, constantly updating evidence and protocolizing procedures to ensure uniform care based on proven standards. The medical community is urged to immediately implement evidence-based protocols to improve the quality of healthcare.
