Complicated perfored diverticulitis of the descending colon: young patient.

The objective is to present a clinical-surgical case of diagnosis and treatment of complicated diverticulitis, perforation of the descending colon avoiding its complications, use of a frequently used surgical technique, such as Hartmann, described almost 100 years ago, this technique is still valid, it is a behavior classic for emergency management of the left colon. Material and methods: Retrospective review carried out from December 2019 to December 2021. One patient was operated on: a 21-year-old woman, resident in Santa Elena, single, university student with grade II obesity, with no history of abdominal surgery, abdominal resistance in flank and Left ileac fossa, abdominal tomography was performed, laboratory tests Leukocytosis 21,500, neutrophils 88%, cardiology consultation, Results: diverticulitis complicated with perforation of the descending colon, the Hartmann technique was performed, the minimum time elapsed between the Hartmann and the reconstruction was 4 months. Operative times 115 min. No complications. The hospital stay was 5 days. Post-surgical controls with the multidisciplinary team of specialists.
