Efficacy of direct acting antiviral (daa) treatment for hepatitis c.
Abstract
Hepatitis C Virus was first discovered by the Chiron Corporations of the USA in 1989. This is a single-stranded positive polarity single-stranded RNA virus that is 9.4 kb. With this discovery, the development of a blood test was achieved to detect patients who had previously been diagnosed as non-A, non-B.
Epidemiologically, this virus has always been associated with parenteral transmission (blood transfusions and/or derivatives, tattoos, intravenous drug addicts). Other possible routes of transmission such as maternal-fetal transmission have been shown to be ineffective and this will basically depend on the greater or lesser viral load that the mother has.
