Abstract

Brain abscesses due to Nocardia son rare and have a high mortality rate1. Sequencing (rRNA) in the identification of Nocardia asiatica in 2004 2. Since then, cases have been reported worldwide3,4,5,6,7, however, this is the first one published in Ecuador. We describe a case of cerebral abscess due to Nocardia asiatica in a immunocompromised individual in the treatment with steroids and biological for the Still’s disease, in addition, we provide a review of the literature about similar cases.
